TEESPORT VISIT FOR LEEDS MARINE INSURANCE ASSOCIATION
The Leeds Marine Insurance Association visited Teesport on June 22, where members were hosted by the owners, PD Ports.
The LMIA is an association of insurance companies, brokers, loss adjusters, marine surveyors and members of the legal profession all specialising in underwriting, broking or claims relating to marine, cargo and freight.
Although the Association has ‘Leeds’ in its title, its membership is drawn from the marine and goods in transit insurance community in the North with members from Bradford, Manchester, North Lincolnshire and even Lloyds of London.
Myton Law’s John Habergham, the LMIA’s Chair, said, “We should like to thank PD Ports for providing us with this great opportunity for members to gain a valuable insight the operation of a modern port. The LMIA’s objective is to promote best practice through visits such as this and regular workshops.
“In particular, I should like to thank Caroline Carsley, Head of Insurance at PD Ports, and her team, Eleanor Winkworth and Andy Green, for their help with this event.”
